2015 Buzzy Adams and Kevin Monteith cars stickered up by Buzz Signs!

CAMERON, WI - There has been a buzzing sound in the small town of Cameron, WI for the past 11 years and it’s been coming from Buzz Signs and Graphix, where some of the sharpest race cars in all of WISSOTA have been designed.

Kevin “Buzzy” Adams, son of prominent engine builder Dave Adams of Adams Automotive, has made a significant mark in WISSOTA auto racing competition for the past 14 years. He has won seven WISSOTA 100 features (two in a Midwest Modified, two in a Street Stock and the past three in a Modified). Also, a three-time WISSOTA national champion in the Super Stocks (2003) and Modifieds (2008, 2011), Adams has racked up numerous track championships and 347 feature wins since his career began.

The 2011 season was the 14th year in a row that Adams finished among the top 10 in a WISSOTA national division.

There is no doubt nearly everyone who races in WISSOTA knows Buzzy Adams.

After being employed by Gaber Signs for two years, Adams decided in 2001 he had enough experience with graphic computer software and vinyl application to go solo. Today he runs Buzz Signs and Graphics from his 50x50 race car shop, which is just a stone’s throw from the family’s engine shop.

In his 11 years of business, Adams has lettered more than 900 eye-catching race cars from Canada, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin and even Florida.

The company also boasts a total of 90 Best Appearing Car awards in 11 years stretching from Wyoming to Wisconsin.

Late Model all-star Jimmy Mars, 2011 WoO Rookie of the year Pat Doar, 2011 Super Stock national champion Shane Kisling, two-time WISSOTA 100 feature winner Matt Leer, 2011 Dart Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models champ Jake Redetzke, 2008 Como Mod Series champion Al Uotinen, 2010 Silver 1000 winner Jody Bellefeuille, Tampa, FL hot shoes Wayne Hammond and Kyle Bronson, two-time WISSOTA Limited Late Model national champ Jason Schierkolk and 2009 WISSOTA Street Stock national champion Cory Crapser  are just some of the nationally known drivers Buzz Signs & Graphics “stickered up” in 2011.

The long list of clients also includes WISSOTA Super Stock pilots Devin Neske, Dan Gullikson, Mike Bellefeuille, Andy Grymala, Scott Lawrence, Dave Flynn, Jason Forehand, Cori Casari, Justin Reiker, Trevor Wilson, James Hughes, Allen Amborn, Josh Rodewald, Tom Steele, Bernie Christianson, Shawn Rivord and Don Talmage; Late Model aces Mike Prochnow, Rick Hanestad, Tim McMann, Ronnie Rihn, Tom Nesbitt Racing and Darren Meierotto; WISSOTA Midwest Modified drivers Ryan and Tito Viltz, Zach Manley, Chad Olsen, Jarrett Carter, Alex Well, Shane Halopka, Mark Turner, Scooter Erickson, Josh Bazey, Tom Turcotte, Marshal Tofte, Jim Barttelt, Sr.;  WISSOTA Modified hot shoes Kyle Koehntop, Curt Myers, Jamen Foss, Billy Byholm, Nate Heinrich, Scott Tofte, Gavin Paull, Jamie Davis, Scott Miller, Justin Elmer, Kelly Checkalski, the Mayala boys - Dustin Nelson and Aric Lindberg, and WISSOTA Street Stockers Nick Wojcik, T.C. Shelhamer, Sam Fankhauser, Mark Breitwiser, Bubba Amans, Russ Phillips, Jimmy Randall, Simon Wahlstrom, Jared Lindner and Joel Hinrichs.

“I love to letter and apply graphics to race cars.” Adams admitted. “It doesn’t matter if it’s a Pure Stock or a Late Model, I’ll stick them all.”

For those “do it yourself” types, Adams will gladly design, cut and mail the graphics to you like he’s previously done for several Montana and Wyoming weekend warriors.

“I have a measurement sheet, and a sponsor sheet that I can email to the customer, then they can send it back to me to ensure the wraps will fit perfectly,” he said.

Buzz Signs and Graphics is not limited to race car graphic applications, however. Adams will stick vinyl to nearly anything from go-karts and snowmobiles to banners and trailers; no matter how large or small the job, Adams can handle it.

As for 2012, Adams estimates he’ll have 100 or more race cars to design and apply graphics to. He strongly urges racers to call early to ensure they get done before the race openers in April.

“We will do whatever it takes to get your car ready for the season, but please call early if you can,” commented Adams.

The biggest news from 2009 was the addition of a new Roland Versa Camm Printer, which means Buzz Signs & Graphics can now offer race wraps to its customers.“We now have the resources and technology to do wraps on these race cars,” Adams stated. “In 2011, 100% of the cars I did, were wraps. It’s huge right now. I also use fluorescent & Holographic overlays on my wraps. This  really makes the wraps pop.

“I really feel one of the reasons that customers keep coming back is that my prices never change. You can always get the best looking job from me for under $600.

“Only a racer knows what a racer wants. Since I’m a racer and know what I want my car to look like on the track, I have a good idea what other racers want too,” Adams added.

“We are not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. You get what you pay for here. Customers are always impressed with how simple our pricing system is! Sharp looking race cars attract more sponsor opportunity.

Adams went on to say, “I understand that every racer has a different budget. We can work with the racer on affordability and still make your ride look sweet.

“Please email, or call me with any questions concerning my race wraps.”

After lettering so many cars for 2011, Adams couldn’t go without thanking his hard-working helper and friend, Jamey Fisher.

Fisher, who is also a racer, put in countless hours at the shop this winter and spring to help Adams prepare for the racecar rush.

“Without the help of Jamey, I wouldn’t be able to do as many cars and I owe him a big ‘thanks’ for all of his help,” Adams said.

Adams also wants to send out a thanks to Kurt Gaber of Gaber Signs, Chris Burback Photography and Joe Provinzino of Joe Signs for all of the cooperation between their businesses in 2011.

“More than 10 years and still buzzing,” Adams stated. “I cannot thank all of our great customers, past and present, enough for all of their support. I look forward to working with you all in the future!”
